Valentine's Day in 2022 is on the horizon and it means one thing - cheap supermarket dine in deals for two.
The most romantic day of the year is also a day when most of the major supermarkets across the UK drop the price of steaks, curries, desserts and wine by bundling them up into Valentine's Day deals.
From heart-shaped chicken nuggets to decadent cheesecakes, the 2022 range of supermarket meal deals promise to be affordable and delicious.
Most meal deals are revealed towards the end of January and they will go on sale in the week before Valentine's Day itself.
Here is what you can expect from the Valentine's Day deals at M&S, Aldi and more.
M&S Valentine's Day dine in deal for two
M&S typically announces its £20 dine in deal for two around 22 January each year. It is then available in store from around a week before Valentine's Day itself.
The M&S dine in deal for two includes a three-course meal plus a bottle of fizz and a box of chocolates for £20. There are multiple options for the meals themselves with meat, vegetarian and vegan diners all catered for.
Last year M&S said shoppers saved £16.50 on the meals when compared to buying the components separately.
Mains included 21-day aged rump steak, duck breast, linguine and sea bass fillets.
Aldi Valentine's Day dine in deal for two
Aldi does not offer a set Valentine's Day deal but does offer a selection of food that can be bundled up yourself, with the cheapest coming in at less than £8.
The Aldi range has been revealed on the website but it will not be available in stores until 10 February.
The range includes heart-shaped bread and camembert for starters, lamb shanks and vegan curry for mains and chocolate pots and white chocolate and raspberry cheescakes for dessert, as well as white and red wine pairings.
Aldi also sells heart-shaped chicken nuggets and bouquets of roses in the run up to Valentine's Day.
Asda Valentine's Day dine in deal for two
Asda's dine in for two deal is live now and includes one starter, one main, two sides, a dessert and a drink or chocolates for £15.
The mains, including sirloin steaks, lamb shanks, steak and red wine pies, and pancetta wrapped chicken breasts, serve two, while drink options include bottles of Prosecco, Malbec, Rose Cava, Pinot Grigio and more.
There are also vegan options including braised red cabbage and triple cook chips.
You can see the Asda deal here.
Tesco Valentine's Day dine in deal for two
Tesco has not revealed its 2021 meal deal yet. Last year Tesco said it was £5 better value than Tesco's 2020 and 2019 Valentine’s Meal Deals, which were priced at £20.
The £15 meal deal is likely to include one starter, one main, one side, a vegetable accompaniment and one dessert. A bottle of wine, Prosecco or non-alcohol alternative is also included.
The Tesco meal deal arrived in stores on 8 February last year and a similar date is expected this year.
Sainsbury's Valentine's Day dine in deal for two
Last year Sainsbury's offered three courses, plus a side and a bottle of wine (or chocolates) for two people, for £20 or under.
Sainsbury’s menu features over 30 dishes to choose from in the Valentine's Day range. Last year the Valentine’s menu for two was available at selected larger stores, and online for delivery from the 10th February until the 14th.
Sainsbury's promises a full range available soon here.
