Filled with beautiful historic attractions and stunning scenery, Salisbury has a growing reputation for being one of the UK's best places to live.
It takes around an hour and half to travel from Bristol and boasts one of the UK's most famous masterpieces: Stonehenge. In 2019 The Sunday Times awarded Salisbury the top spot when it came to the most desirable areas to live in the country.
With a history dating back over 5,000 years, there is no shortage of places to visit in and around the West Country city. For history fans, the area is packed with impressive feats, including a 14th-century clock which is the oldest working mechanical clock in the world.

Visitors can also see Britain’s tallest spire at the city's cathedral and magna carta. One reviewer wrote: "My friend and I spent three hours totally absorbed in all there was to see within the Cathedral and, for the first time ever, looking at the Magna Carta."
Another said: "The place is completely awe-inspiring; it is just mind-bendingly huge. Bearing in mind the era in which it was built, it is astonishing to see the scale, and understand the skills, and basic tools, that were used to build it."
There are also stunning parks with streams and Roman architecture for walkers to enjoy a stroll around. Tourists also rave about the area's Old Sarum. One person wrote on TripAdvisor: "Evening stroll around Old Sarum we found fantastic views in every direction and a nice view of Salisbury and the Cathedral."
