Whether it's grand facades and afternoon teas, or a bag of chips in the car after a blustery walk on the beach, there's nothing us Brits love more than a trip to the seaside.
And in the new five-part series on More4 called Best of Britain By The Sea, two of Britain's most-loved foodies, Ainsley Harriott and Grace Dent, explore some of the best seaside holiday destinations – and dishes - the British Isles have to offer.
Each episode will follow Grace and Ainsley as they stay in a self-catering property where they cook for each other using their favourite produce, and a hotel where they meet the owners and chefs while soaking up the unique ambience of each gorgeous establishment.

From their two delightful accommodations the pair explore the local surroundings and attractions, and experience hidden foodie hotspots. And the first episode of this series, that aims to be a guide to Britain’s splendid seaside at its scrumptious best, sees the culinary pair in Carmarthenshire.
The hotel accommodation the pair stay at is the historic Brown's hotel in Laugharne. The self-catering property featured in the programme is called Cefncilwg and you can stay there too, although Ainsley and Grace won't be there to cook anything yummy for you.
The beautiful farmhouse close to Llandeilo, one of the prettiest towns in Wales, is set in an idyllic spot within this jewel of a Welsh country, with sweeping views surrounding the stone property.
Arguably the gem of the building for relaxing and watching the sunset over the undulating, panoramic rural vista is the hot tub, preferably joined by a glass of bubbly.
The farmhouse was once part of The Taliaris Estate which included the Grade I listed manor house Plas Taliaris that dates back to the mid 17th century. The holiday cottage may not be a manor house but it has its own character and plenty of it, and Grace is instantly smitten.
She says: "This is my type of place, it is incredible! I judge a holiday cottage by its kitchen and this is incredible - look at these stone flags! I love this place, it feels like a home, not a holiday home."
Ainsley joins in the gushing: "Look at that range, I like that!" He even feels like doing a Julie Andrews impression of 'The Sound of Music' in the garden when he sees the sweeping Welsh hills making him feel like the hills are alive with the sound of music, commenting: "This is what Wales is all about, it's so rural, look at it! I just want to curl up and read a book!"
And maybe you will feel just as in awe of this gorgeous property if you stay there too. It has five bedrooms and two bathrooms, and plenty of peaceful places for Ainsley to discover to use as his longed for reading nook.
There are two living rooms, both with a log burner so snuggling up by the fire gives you a delicious choice and what better comfort food to accompany the roaring fire inside and the rolling rural vistas outside than Welsh rarebit, using Welsh cheddar and leeks, of course.
And to elevate it further Ainsley splashes into the pan some Welsh pear cider as well as melted butter, flour and milk, cooked down to give a smooth creamy sauce.
Of course, you can do your own Welsh rarebit if you stay at the cottage - the kitchen has a Rayburn electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher, and if you spill anything, there's a washing machine and tumble dryer.
When your tummy is full and it's time for bed there are five beautiful bedrooms to choose from, all oozing cottage charm and decor that includes timeless, traditional furniture.
The property is a classic country cottage, combining the white-washed walls, ceiling beams, exposed stone walls and fireplace with all the character furniture and charming, welcoming ambience you would expect from a cottage nestled within the Welsh countryside.
Wood or natural stone cover the floors, tactile textures and classic patterns add to the visual warmth and homely feel, and the addition of the double-height garden room is a triumph for socialising and immersing yourself in that amazing view.
Weekly prices for staying at Cefncilwg start from £1309 and for more details go to the Hoseasons website.
In a Welsh tweet looking forward to the first episode in Wales, Grace Dent says 'Tonight at 9pm turn to Channel 4 to see two of Britain's favourite food experts, @ainsleyfoods and @gracedent, enjoying some of Carmarthenshire's best local foods and beautiful scenes in a new TV show, The Best of British by the Sea. (thank you @Discovercarms).'
The series is made by Blink Films in partnership with the UK’s leading self-catering accommodation specialist, Hoseasons (part of the Awaze Group). Secondary sponsorship for Norwich and Great Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, Carmarthenshire, and Aberdeenshire is being provided by their respective tourist boards, county and borough councils and associated funding projects.
This property appears in series one of Best Of Britain By The Sea on More4 on Monday, May 16 at 9pm and is currently available to view on All 4.
