A bed and breakfast in Gwynedd has been named as having the best breakfast offering in Wales. The Old Vicarage in Corris outside Gwynedd has won the foodie award at the AA B&B Awards 2022.
Situated in the beautiful Dulas valley, surrounded by dramatic scenery, The Old Vicarage is an old slate building built in 1875. The B&B is the home of owners Kirsty & Gareth with Kirsty running the show. The Old Vicarage is a luxury guest house in the heart of Snowdonia with just four beautifully curated rooms. The rooms are named after local landscapes and legends.
Now in its 27th year, this year’s AA B&B Awards saw a team of AA inspectors recognise the best-of-the-best of the UK’s bed and breakfast scene. Individuality, standard of housekeeping and the all-important breakfast, were just some areas the experts used to decide the winners. For the latest food reviews, sign up to our newsletter

However, despite its luxury hospitality, it is the breakfast that has won The Old Vicarage its accolade. The awards cover four categories and winners have been selected due to their outstanding customer service, culinary merits, and excellent hospitality.
The breakfast menu comprises of a daily starter, hot main courses with a rolling seasonal specials menu and then daily homemade bread selection for toast and jams to follow (if you still have room). The B&B also offer packed lunches, an honesty bar stocked with Welsh wine, beer and snacks, and a lounge menu for light bites in the evening before you head out for dinner.
For the delicious Vicarage breakfasts, the owners partner with local suppliers and artisans and also make the bread fresh, daily. Their website says they make all of our cooked breakfasts fresh to order, and offer three different sittings; 7:30, 8:30, 9:30.
And it seems that the breakfast has been a stand out feature for guests, with one Trip Advisor reviewer saying: "Breakfast is a delight , the highlight of the day with a lovely daily menu of specials all expertly cooked and beautifully presented. The standard here is very high indeed and way above what you'd normally expect from a small guesthouse."
And another saying: "Delicious breakfast - many options. The Welsh Rarebit was exceptional. My vegan daughter had lots of choices as well."
The Old Vicarage isn't the only Welsh winner at the AA B&B Awards, with Parc-Le-Breos House inParkmill, Swansea snapping up the title of AA Guest Accommodation of the Year. Parc-Le-Breos is a Victorian hunting lodge with extensive gardens near Three Cliffs Bay.
