House prices in Greater Manchester differ drastically from one borough to the next, and with the figures changing each and every month, it can be difficult to keep up.
Knowing the average price of homes across the region can help house hunters decide where is the most affordable place to live, and can also help those looking to sell up to know much homes are typically going for in their local area.
Greater Manchester has an overall average property price of £231,344, according to Rightmove, but across each of the region's 10 boroughs, there are an array of different suburbs, towns and villages each with their own varying house prices.

When comparing the region's most expensive areas such as Hale and Bowdon in Trafford, to the cheapest areas of Platt Bridge and Ince in Wigan - the difference in affordability is huge.
Using data from the HM Land Registry, we've pulled together a list of the average house price recorded in July for the main areas in each of the region's 10 boroughs.

Bolton
Properties in Bolton had an average price of £194,623 over the last year. House prices in the borough are fairly similar to the previous year, but are up 18% on the 2019 peak of £165,555.
The cheapest area to live in Bolton is Farnworth, whereas the most expensive is Westhoughton.
