It begins at Morgaon, and that is not an accident
The first temple of the Ashtavinayak circuit is Shri Mayureshwar at Morgaon, about 65 kilometres from Pune. Mayureshwar, Ganesha mounted on a peacock, is both the start and the end of the yatra. Every pilgrim returns here after visiting all eight shrines. The circuit closes where it opens. That structure alone tells you this is not a tour. It is a loop, and loops have a different logic than lines.
