Fans of The Apprentice were left screaming at their TV screens this evening (Thursday) as the contestants embarked on the series' scavenger hunt challenge. The task saw the teams compete to secure a number of very specific items around Brighton and Hove.
The items included a cast of a body part from a team mate, a barometer and the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest Winner - specifically on 45RPM. The last object caused confusion among the contestants, with many not understanding that vinyl records often came in 45RPM and 33RPM versions.
They also weren't aware that the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest winner was Waterloo by Abba - a song that was recorded in Brighton.
Jen (@jennc_xx) knew which song it was immediately and could barely contain herself at home. She tweeted: "Not me screaming the name of that Eurovision song at the tv "
Matti Colley (@matti_colley) added: "Watching #TheApprentice and it's my favourite challenge - the Scavenger Hunt. I'm surprised they didn't know that the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest winning song was "Waterloo" by ABBA...."
James Jackson (@james_jackson01) was shocked the contestants didn't know any of the lingo. "Is 45 the size of the disc?" he said, followed by the facepalm emoji.
The contestants were not allowed to use the internet to look up the products and had to navigate around the area by map - which they all found difficult. It left some viewers feeling disgruntled.
Peta Kilbane (@PetaKilbane) tweeted: "I know how to read a map and know what a 45 is and that Waterloo is the Eurovision winner. #TheApprentice is making me feel old."
The Apprentice is on BBC One on Thursdays at 9pm, or you can catch up on BBC iPlayer.
