The Apprentice star Tim Campbell has responded to the early exit of one of this year's candidates, as he offered a message of support.
Candidate Shama Amin has had to bow out of the competition due to suffering from a painful health condition, it was confirmed on Tuesday.
In this week’s episode, Shama reveal that she is battling rheumatoid arthritis - a condition that causes pain and stiffness in joints.
Shama has since spoken exclusively to the Mirror, and confirmed she felt she had no choice but to leave after facing exhausting 19-hour days.
Tim, an Apprentice winner and current advisor to Lord Alan Sugar on the BBC series, has since reacted to the news and wished Shama well.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, the star who is standing in for Claude Littner on the BBC show revealed all.
He said to hosts Susanna Reid and Adil Ray, as Susanna brought up that the show had seen an early departure: "We have unfortunately, yes.
"One of the things at work we have to take into the wellbeing of individuals, and Shama in this situation decided that she wanted to do something else because of her health issues.
"We wish her the best of luck. Make sure you watch tomorrow, Thursday at nine o'clock on BBC One, you will see the outcome."
It comes as Shama spoke to The Mirror about what led to her early exit on the series.
She said: “The audition process was gruelling but once the show started, it was very physically demanding.
“I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. And it affects your joints, your physical mobility. In my personal life, when I need to rest I put my feet up.”
Shama told how she urged herself to continue but struggled to put her shoes on after swelling on her feet and legs.
She said she had to be well enough to look after her kids, adding: “It’s absolutely devastating because I had so much more to bring to the table.”
Shama, from Bradford, praised the production team who gave her medical help before she agreed she would leave.
The Apprentice airs Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One.
