The Apprentice's Marnie Swindells makes 'promise' to Lord Sugar after win on BBC show

Marnie Swindells has made a big promise to Lord Sugar, after he chose her as winner of The Apprentice as his new business partner, giving him her word that she understands the 'magnitude' of the opportunity handed to her.

Boxing gym owner Marnie battled it out against Rochelle Anthony in Thursday night's final, as the hit BBC show came to an end for another year. Both finalists had one final chance to impress Lord Sugar by bringing their business plans to life, with some help from fired candidates from the new series.

After each making their final pitch to an audience of industry leading experts and Lord Sugar himself, Marnie and Rochelle headed into the boardroom one last time, for the mogul to announce his decision that he'd picked Marnie as his winner and recipient of his £250,000 investment.

In the immediate aftermath of her Apprentice victory, Marnie said: "What an incredible opportunity and moment for a girl like me to get to a place like this and have become Lord Sugar’s business partner. It feels strange to even say that, but I’m not going to stop saying it because I am so happy.”

And Marnie, having eventually found the words to sum up what the big win and Lord Sugar's backing meant to her, took to Instagram to react to the result, giving her new business partner an assurance in the process.

Sharing a photo of herself and Lord Sugar, the 28-year-old wrote: "There is NOTHING in this life that is off limits. No room you cannot enter, no wall to high and no door you can't knock down if you just bang hard enough.

"@lord_sugar I want to thank you for gracing me with the opportunity that thousands of people would kill for. I understand the magnitude of what it means and its an honour that I will never take lightly, you have my word."

Marnie signed off the post: "Now all that talk is out the way, lets get down to business; the hurt business."
