'The answer is no': Gary Neville reacts to Arsenal response amid title race wobble

Verdict: Gary Neville - (Gary Neville Podcast)

Gary Neville has warned Arsenal they can only relax “for a week” following their north London derby win over Tottenham.

Arsenal completed the double over Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday as Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres each scored twice to repeat the 4-1 scoreline from the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

It is a first league win in three games for Mikel Arteta’s side after dropping four points from winning positions in recent away fixtures against Brentford and Wolves.

Furthermore, the Gunners’ lead at the top of the Premier League table is back to five points after it was reduced to just two following Manchester City’s 2-1 win at home to Newcastle on Saturday.

Neville, delivering his post-match verdict on Arsenal amid their recent wobbles, praised their response - particularly in the second half - but warned tougher tests are ahead.

He said on Sky Sports: "Yeah that was the big question coming into today's game, the wobbles were there, how much pressure were they actually feeling?

"That was the question at the start of the match. Would they demonstrate some level of anxiety or nerves?

"The answer is no. They had a blip in the first half but in the second half they were professional, stable, physically and mentally strong, and really controlled the game.

"They can relax a little bit for a week."

Next up for Arsenal is another London derby, this time at home to Chelsea, as they will be in action after Man City once again with Pep Guardiola’s side facing Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday.

The Gunners are unbeaten against the Blues in three meetings so far this season, beating their rivals home and away in the Carabao Cup semi-final following a 1-1 draw in the league meeting back in November.
