The Ange Postecoglou Celtic 'dream' that Michael Beale is aiming for at Rangers

Neil McCann reckons Michael Beale will be aiming to replicate the consistency of squad and formation that Ange Postecoglou achieved during his time at Celtic.

The former Ibrox winger reckons his former side are slowly improving this campaign after a slow start but with a number of incomings and outgoings it has been hard for Beale to settle on a first-choice starting XI.

McCann believes consistency is key and he feels that is exactly what Postecoglou achieved during his time at Celtic, which made his side so successful in a short space of time.

Speaking of how Beale will now look to achieve the same across the city, McCann told the BBC: "It is about trying to find the right balance. The right fit for a formation.

"It is so difficult as a manager to find the right shape that is going to suit how you want to play.

"If you remember Ange Postecoglou over across the city, he didn't change. He was like you adapt to us.

"I think Michael Beale would like to get to that stage with this Rangers side where he knows how he is playing, he has a first eleven in his mind, they are clicking, they are gelling, they are beating teams freely.

"This is how we play and now you have to combat us. I think that is the dream as a coach to find a formula that is going to work and make oppositions change to you, not to them."

On Rangers' performance against PSV last night, McCann added: "I think Raskin continues to improve, Cifuentes will continue to improve, I think John Souttar is really starting to get a little bit of consistency.

"He is looking a class operator. There was one moment against PSV where he stepped out and he just looked brilliant.

"Overall I think his performance was really good."
