The Amount of Data It Takes To Win a WSBK Championship Is Wild. Just Ask Ducati

We looked on in awe as Nicolò Bulega obliterated the WorldSBK (WSBK) record for the most consecutive wins this season. The Italian rider won 25 consecutive races and currently has 602 points, meaning that, with two rounds still left to go, Bulega officially has the Riders' title in the bag after the last race weekend at the Cermona Circuit in Italy.

But as you'd expect with such a dominant team and year, Ducati took home more than just the Riders' title in 2026.

The Aruba.it Racing Ducati team took home the WSBK Triple Crown this year, with two rounds still to go. In layman's terms, that means, along with the Riders' Championship, Ducati won the Manufacturers' Championship and the Teams' Championship, joining Kawasaki as the only other team to achieve such a feat more than once in WSBK.

To win the Triple Crown, you have to pair a great bike with a fantastic rider, but what's less spoken about is how much data you need every race weekend to be in with a shout of standing on the podium. Lenovo is the Aruba.it Racing team's main sponsor, and its engineers are putting insane amounts of data through the Lenovo hardware every weekend.

According to Lenovo, there are more than 20 engineers behind the scenes, going through roughly 40GB of data every race event, which equates to them analyzing the information for 34 hours. All this helps to inform Bulega and his teammate, Iker Lecuona, which of their eight set-up changes is working best on any given weekend. Fully exploring all the areas of improvemen leads the team to make more than 150 decisions to eke out tenths of seconds where they can every race weekend.

Is all this necessary, some might ask? Only if you want to be successful. Ducati won every single WSBK race in 2026, and even though the team had arguably the best rider and motorcycle on the grid, the engineers behind the scenes never stopped putting in the extra effort behind the scenes to crunch the numbers.
