Shoppers are raving about a bargain wine 'dupe' that is said to taste just like celebrity rosé wine favourite Whispering Angel. The £20 blush vino has become a sensation thanks to rave reviews from the likes of singer Adele.
Now lovers of rosé wine reckon they have found a much cheaper alternative in the aisles of Aldi ahead of Christmas - and it costs just £5. TikToker Ashley Stobart, known as @thecosmeticconsultant, recently shared her discovery with followers on the app.
Showing a bottle of Aldi's Pierre Jaurant Sud De France Rosé, Ashley said: “My fav! It’s limited edition so stock up". In the short video, Ashley can be seen holding Aldi's bottle of wine, which features the same light blush colour as the Whispering Angel brand, the Daily Record reports.
Deirdre Dillon agreed with Ashley, saying: "It's a lovely wine tried it last night". Beth Spargo added: "The best!!"
However other commenters were more sceptical. Dididale70 said: "I don’t think it is, but it is a lovely wine", while Chicken Nugget said: "It’s rank tastes like vinegar don’t bother!"
Aldi describes its Pierre Jaurant Sud De France Rosé "an exquisite, elegant rosé" that is "clean on the palate, and filled with piercing fruit flavours.". Meanwhile the aroma of the real thing is said to be "beautifully pale pink, which is pleasing to the eye and draws one in" with "fresh red berry fruit characteristics with floral notes."
