The Addams Family and Gemma Collins coming to Manchester Opera House in April - and 12 other shows

It’s a busy month at Manchester’s Opera House this April, with 15 shows set to take to the stage of the former cinema and bingo hall. Huge productions like The Addams Family, plus a dozen one-night-only events are getting ready to thrill audiences - and you can still get tickets for most of them. Gemma Collins - who was recently announced as the new Mama Morton for the Chicago tour - will be bringing her GC’s Big Night Out to the Opera House on April 5, with George Ezra selling out the venue later in the month.

Tickets for some of the shows start from as little as £13, with last minute tickets for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, which runs until Saturday, April 2.

Meanwhile, at Palace Theatre, Beauty and The Beast is stunning show-goers until June 4. Tickets for the two-and-a-half hour performance cost up to £97.50 - but there are cheaper tickets available. So, if you’re looking for a night out at the theatre this April, here are all the shows you can still buy tickets for at the Opera House.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

The brand-new production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is currently being performed at the Opera House. But fans will have to be quick if they want to see it, as it concludes this Saturday.

The multi award-winning show has been performed in over 80 countries worldwide, and this time around features Alexandra Burke, Jason Donovan and Jac Yarrow.

An Evening With Stanley Tucci - April 4

Sharing never-before-heard stories of working on set with Meryl Streep, creating the famous timpano in Big Night, plus his dream dinner party guests and why he loves living the UK, An Evening With Stanley Tucci promises to be an entertaining night ‘in celebration of unforgettable meals, Instagram-famous cocktails, and the importance of finding the joy in life.’

Gemma Collins burst onto our screens when she joined TOWIE in 2011 and since then she has become renowned for her hilarious one-liners, sassy attitude and, most importantly, memes. Labelled as one of the most iconic women of our nation, her rise to the top has been dazzling.

The GC’s Big Night Out is one not to be missed.

Johannes Radebe - Freedom - April 6

Strictly Come Dancing sensation Johannes Radebe is known for making a splash with his explosive routines on the ITV show, and was part of the programme’s first male couple last season.

His debut tour, Freedom, will see the dances that audiences love, with Johannes’ signature flair and energy, including ballroom and Latin.

Ellen Kent Operas - April 7 to 9

There are three Ellen Kent operas making an appearance at Manchester Opera House in April, including Tosca, Carmen and Madama Butterfly.

Both Tosca and Madama Butterfly are sung in Italian with English subtitles, while Carmen is performed in French with English subtitles.

Champions of Magic - April 10

The Champions Of Magic cast present incredible interactive magic, a daring escape from Houdini’s water torture cell, a mind-blowing prediction that has to be seen to be believed, levitation high above the stage and a finale beyond explanation.

The show happens all around the theatre and features spectacular illusions that can’t be seen anywhere else.

The Addams Family - April 19 to 23

Everyone's favourite kooky family are coming back on stage in this spectacular musical comedy, with music and lyrics by Tony Award nominated Andrew Lippa and starring Joanne Clifton of Strictly Come Dancing fame as Morticia.

Audiences can join The Addams, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Pugsley and more for a heart-warming story of love, family and friendship… with a twist!

Nina Conti - The Dating Show - April 24

British Comedy Award winner Nina Conti is back on tour with her quick-thinking ventriloquism for a pioneering new dating show.

ATG Tickets said: “She’ll be like Cilla Black with masks. Derailed. Not so much a Blind Date as a re-voiced one. There’s no promise that true love will be found, but a firm guarantee that big laughs will be had.”
