Some of the pets in this article have even arrived at a shelter together and would love to find a loving home with their partner.

This sweet line-up of dogs, cats and small animals are currently living in shelters in Manchester. You can find out more by visiting each shelter's website.

Abbie

Abbie (RSPCA Salford and Manchester)

Abbie is a seven year old cat who was initially homeless and found fending for herself.

Despite having an old pelvic injury, she is full of energy and loves a fuss - as long as you don't touch her head, but her neck or cheeks are fine.

She enjoys playing with a range of toys but has a very gentle nature, so is looking for a calm home to live in.

She would be best suited to a home with one or two adults, with the option to go outdoors once settled in. She needs to be the only cat in the home and can't live with dogs.

Apache

Apache (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Apache is a six-year-old male Siberian Husky who loves muddy puddles and tennis balls. He's looking for an active home that can take him on adventures.

He would need his own good-sized private garden with 6ft solid fencing where he can relax and play. Breed experience is preferable, but if not then research on the breed must be done.

He is looking to live with a maximum of 2 people in the home and both of these will need to be adults so he can really build a bond.

Apache has had mixed reactions around dogs, he can lead walk with female dogs nicely but then has been uncomfortable with others - because of this he would like to be walked in quiet areas where dogs won't run up to him off lead and take him by surprise.

Axel

Axel (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Axel is a seven month old German Shepherd who loves being on the go and meeting up with other friendly dogs. He is a foodie, which makes him a great candidate for training - he's also very smart.

Axel is looking for a home with adults only that have Shepherd experience, or knowledge of the breed. He will need his own private secure garden and access to low dog-populated walks. Axel must be the only pet in the home.

He needs plenty of time to settle into the home and his adopters should have minimal leaving hour. He is currently worried by the car so travel will need to be non-essential for now.

Axel's rehoming process will involve several home trials so adopters will need to live within an hour of the centre.

Baloo

Baloo (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Baloo is a five year old Greyhound who is very affectionate and loves his food. He's looking for a new home where he can curl up and snooze the day away, then enjoy a long walk.

Baloo has previously shown aggression over resting areas, so new adopters should be careful not to approach him on his bed while following the advice of the training team.

Baloo's new home should be adult only with no young visiting children. He would like a non-open plan home where he can be separated from the kitchen.

Baloo is friendly with dogs out and about but does enjoy his own space too, so he should be the only pet in the home with a secure private garden.

Bamber

Bamber (RSPCA Salford and Manchester)

Bamber is a one year old an agouti lop who is growing in confidence daily and loving his new found freedom.

He is an inquisitive lad who is always grateful for an extra bit of veg or a treat. He appreciates a gentle approach and once you are settled in with him he comes over to check you out.

Bamber was neutered on 4 February and his hormones are settling down well. His litter tray habits are already great and he is vaccinated and microchipped. He can live indoors or out with a neutered, female companion. He could also live with children of secondary school age.

Ben and Misty

Ben and Misty (RSPCA Salford and Manchester)

Ben is an 11 year old Labrador cross and Misty is a 10 year old Akita. The pair love going on walks together and meeting other dogs.

Ben and Misty are inseparable and will need a new home with a garden big enough for them to have a good wander round.

They might be friendly with other dogs, but they should be the only canines in the home. Ben and Misty would suit a home that has longer leaving hours if they can be built up gradually. Any children in the home must be 14 or over and happy to respect Ben and Misty's space.

Bram

Bram (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Bram is a male two-year-old Malinois crossbreed who is 'super clever' and loves to learn new things. He is full of energy and loves adventures, so would need adopters who could provide him with two to three hours plus of exercise a day.

Bram is described as having a 'sweet side' and adores human attention on his terms, and at a pace he's comfortable with. Sadly he had quite an unsettled start to life and as a result will need a patient, adult-only home with no visiting children.

Bram will require his own private, large secure garden with constant outside access along with some type of outdoor shelter or kennel so he can stay outside for as long as he pleases.

Bram doesn't like to be left alone and so his new home will need to have very minimal leaving hours.

Bradford

Bradford (RSPCA Salford and Manchester)

Bradford is a two year old rabbit who is quite confident and happy to greet his favourite humans. He was found in a 'shocking' state in a confined hutch with heavily soiled fur - the RSPCA say that he was lucky to be alive.

Bradford enjoys a head stroke and is placid, so would make a great house bunny with a female rabbit.

He was neutered on 1 February and his hormones are settling down well. His litter tray habits are great and he is vaccinated and microchipped. He can live indoors or out with a neutered, female companion and could live with children of secondary school age.

Billy

Billy (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Billy is a ten year old miniature Schnauzer who loves to be around people he knows, especially for a snuggle on the sofa. He enjoys being out on walks but can get overwhelmed with new people and other dogs so will need walks in quieter areas.

Billy is looking for a single owner household with minimal visitors. He needs an adopter who has minimal leaving hours.

Billy will need his own secure garden and cannot live with cats. He also has a heart condition, Mitral Valve disease, so his new home will need to be comfortable with this.

Blizzard

Blizzard (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Blizzard is a four year old Husky looking for an active home to explore the great outdoors with him. He's a smart dog who loves his food and will come for a fuss once he gets to know you.

Blizzard would like his own secure, private garden with six foot fencing and no neighbouring dogs. His new family should have minimal leaving hours and he will need to be walked in a quiet area, with minimal dogs.

He could live with children age 14 years or over but he can only be walked by an adult. He needs to be the only pet in the home. Breed experience is desirable but not essential, however, it would be beneficial for his new home to have knowledge.

Bolt

Bolt (Manchester Dogs Home)

Bolt is a three year old ex-racing Greyhound who loves chasing his toys and having a fuss. He is good at walking alongside people while out and about and he enjoys his food and treats.

Bolt will need a private, secure garden with six foot fencing. He is quite shy with other dogs so will need to be the only dog in the home.

He can live with children age 11 years and over. He will need to have limited access to the kitchen and somewhere where he can have his own resting area to sleep and eat.

Bow

Bow (Manchester Dogs Home)

Bow is a seven year old German Shepherd who is shy at first but loves having a fuss once she's warmed up. She travels well in the car, can manage long car journeys and loves going on exciting adventures.

Her new home needs a private, secure garden and Bow will need to be the only dog in the home - but she could live with a dog savvy cat.

Bow enjoys the quiet life so she would like a home with minimal visitors whilst she settles and she will need to be able to be separated from the front door. She could live with sensible children aged 14 and over.

Bruce

Bruce (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Bruce is a one year old German Shepherd who is bursting with energy and is super smart. Motivated by food, he's a faster learner and is looking for a new home who would love to work on his training.

His new family should have knowledge or experience of the shepherd breed.

He will need a home in a quiet area with access to quiet walks on foot as he is worried by the car. The home will also need to be non open plan and have the ability to separate him from the front door as well as being set back from the road.

Bruce needs a home with adults only and minimal visitors. He is friendly with other dogs but still needs some more socialisation so will need to be the only dog in the home and cannot live with any other pets.

Buster

Buster (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Buster is a seven year old Cockapoo who loves to play with toys and have a good fuss. He can be shy at first but comes out of his shell eventually and appreciates his treats, making him great for training.

His new home would need have its own private garden and minimal visitors. Buster can be strong on lead so will need some help from his adopters while learning to walk calmly.

He has previously lived with a cat but he would chase it to play. He would prefer to be an only dog but would still like to say hello to friendly dogs on walks.

Buster could live with children age 14 and over who are sensible and will allow him space when he needs it.

Charlie

Charlie (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Charlie is a six year old Yorkshire Terrier who is looking for a predictable home environment with understanding and patient owners. He can be anxious at times and worried by loud noises so will need a quiet home. Charlie enjoys his walks and likes to be with known people.

Charlie is looking for an adult only home with no visiting children. He will need to be the only dog in the home but is happy to meet small, calm dogs out on walks.

Charlie will need his own secure garden and his new home must be in a quiet location.

Chiggs

Chiggs (RSPCA Salford and Manchester)

Chiggs is a one year old rabbit who was taken in by the RSPCA in November after being found in a filthy 'breeding box.'

He has grown in confidence and become a cheeky bunny, always on the look out and hopeful for treats.

He spends his days snuggled up in his hay, having a lazy munch between snoozes, but always comes to see his favourite humans.

Chiggs is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and would be able to live with a female rabbit. He needs to be kept indoors, but could live with children of secondary school age.

Coco

Coco (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Coco is a four year old Crossbreed who is energetic and loves being out and about. She loves her toys and will happily entertain herself with them - or will let you know if she wants to play with you by giving you a nudge.

Coco will need her own private secure garden and can live with children aged 16 years and over who are comfortable with big bouncy dogs.

Coco will need access to quiet walks and should be the only dog in the home. She is generally happy to meet people out and about but can be worried behind a barrier so will need a home where she can be separated from the door.

Adopters should be able to limit her access to front windows or have a home set back from the road as she may bark at dogs passing. Coco does react to traffic so must have a home away from busy roads too.

Dobby

Dobby (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Dobby is a three-year-old Lurcher cross who loves saying hello to his favourite people, nuzzling or leaning into them for a gentle fuss.

He enjoys being kept busy. He is very clever and loves to learn new tricks.

Dobby is great company on walks when in quiet areas, he loves being out and about and would be best suited to an active home that wants to explore new places with him.

He is looking for a home with a private secure garden with no neighbouring dogs.

Dobby can live with children aged 16 years and over who are comfortable around large dogs, however he must be the only pet in the home.

Dutch

Dutch (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Dutch is a three year old Dutch herder looking for an active home committed to working with her and keeping up her training.

She loves being out exploring and sits happily in the back of the car ready for her next adventure.

Due to her high chase drive, Dutch can be reactive so much prefers walks in nice quiet spots.

Her new home will need a private secure garden with at least six foot fences, with minimal visitors. Due to her age and breed, her new home should be very active, committed to her ongoing training and have shepherd knowledge but preferably experience.

Dutch must live in an adult only home with no visiting children and be the only pet in the home.

Echo

Echo (RSPCA Manchester and Salford)

Echo is a petite, female rabbit, approximately seven months old.

She came into the RSPCA having been found as a young stray. She is looking to be rehomed in an outdoor set-up and to be bonded with a neutered male.

She has gained confidence since being taken in and enjoys snuggling into towels in her pen. She's very independent and likes her own space.

Echo is vaccinated and soon to be neutered and chipped.

She is looking for extra special home with loving, gentle and patient adopters. She would prefer an adult only household.

Edie

Edie (RSPCA Salford and Manchester)

Edie was found as a stray with conjunctivitis and fleas, but is in much better health now. She is ready to find a new home for cuddles and adventures.

Her foster carer says she's calm most of the day but loves active play time with a range of toys.

Edie may have flare ups of the conjunctivitis from time to time and she is fully vaccinated and microchipped.

She is looking for a relaxing home where she will be the only cat, can go outdoors to have fun and where any young people are ages 11 and over.

Ellie

Ellie (RSPCA Manchester and Salford)

Ellie is a Lop rabbit, estimated to be between two to three years old, looking for a new home as a house rabbit.

She is shy but very loving and enjoys watching the world go by from the top of the castle in her pen.

Ellie is wary of other rabbits, and while she could be bonded with a placid, male rabbit, her adopters must be experienced in undertaking slow bonding with rescue rabbits and be extra vigilant.

She is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and would be able to live with children of secondary school age.

Freya

Freya the Siberian Husky crossbreed (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Freya is a seven year old Husky cross Malamute who is very lively and enjoys going on adventures.

She loves travelling in the car and exploring further afield, as well as playing with her toy.

Freya is looking for a home with adults only and no visiting children as she can be worried of them.

She will need her own good-sized private secure garden away from main roads.

She will need to be the only pet in the house as she enjoys doing her own thing.

Breed experience is needed for Freya.

Fido

Fido (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Fido is a 12 year old Staffie crossbreed who adores human company and is easily motivated by food.

Fido would thrive in a home where his new owners aren't bothered that he doesn't really enjoy his walks that much and would rather have a cuddle on the sofa instead.

As he's likely to spend most of his time in the home and garden, he would be happier somewhere that will give him free access around the home with minimal restrictions, such as allowing him on furniture.

Adopters must live in a low dog populated area and avoid places where off lead dogs could approach. As most of Fido's exercise would take place in the garden he will need a good sized private secure garden that doesn't have any neighbouring dogs.

Fido is a real affectionate boy so could live with children age eight years and over, but he needs to be the only pet in the home. His new home should have minimal leaving hours initially.

Fido will need to be kept on lead and muzzled when out and about.

Gizmo

Gizmo (Manchester Dogs Trust)

Gizmo is a nine year old crossbreed who loves to greet everyone and chase his toys.

After playtime, he adores cuddling up with his favourite humans. He can be worried by other dogs, so would need to be walked in a quiet, low dog population area.

He travels well in the car and loves going further afield for adventures.

Gizmo's new home would need a private, secure garden and he will need to be the only pet.

He could live with sensible children ages 11 and over. Gizmo will be going home on a lead disclaimer so he needs to be kept on a lead in public around other dogs.

Gravy

Gravy (Manchester Dogs Trust)

Gravy is a three year old Lurcher who loves leaning into his favourite humans for a fuss and cuddle. He loves his walks, always having his head to the ground sniffing and is very food motivated.

Gravy will need a home that has access to quiet walks in a low dog populated and a medium/large secure garden with minimum six foot fencing.

He must not have any neighbouring dogs and cannot live with any other dogs or other pets due to his high prey drive.

Any children in the home need to be age 14 years old or over who can respect his space and must be adults only to walk.

Gravy will be going home on a muzzle and lead disclaimer meaning he must be kept on lead and wear a muzzle at all times in public areas.

Hank

Hank (RSPCA Salford and Manchester)

Hank is an eight year old cat who is very affectionate and loves being around people - especially those who give him attention.

His foster carers say he is a cat of leisure, who loves having naps and a nosy out the window. He does occasionally enjoy playing with toys and has a gentle nature.

Hank has had a terrible gum disease called stomatitis which meant he had to have all his teeth removed. He has just his front fangs left and a few tiny teeth between them. So his wet food will have to be mashed up for him!

Adopters must be strict with his treat rations because he is prone to weight gain. Hank is looking for a quiet home without children, cats or dogs.

Jasper and Chanterney

Jasper and Chanterney (RSPCA Salford and Manchester)

Jasper is a white and black male kitten and Chanterney is an all black female kitten, both four months old. They were taken into the RSPCA as tiny tots and had severe flu - which is why Jasper only has one eye.

Consequently, the pair will be flu carriers for life and are likely to have flare ups from time to time so must be housed indoors.

They are both gentle and enjoy their fuss. Jasper is more confident than Chanterney and he always makes sure that his little sister is safe.

Jasper and Chanterney will take several weeks to adjust to their new home, so potential adopters must be willing to give them all the time then need to let them come round at their own pace.

Their new home should be quiet and adult only, where they are the only pets in the home. The kittens are neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Juliet

Juliet (Manchester Dogs Trust)

Juliet is a seven month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross, a typical bouncy puppy looking for an active home.

She responds well to food and is looking for a family who can continue her training. She can be quite mouthy when excited so adopters will need to be comfortable with this.

Juliet has had an unsettled start to life and so adopters must be willing to help to slowly expand her world and provide her with all basic training, including housetraining.

She will need a non open plan house with her own secure garden and her adopters should initially have minimal leaving hours.

She must go home with another dog to aid her settling in - if this is a male he will need to be neutered.

Juliet will need a home with at least two people and any children in her new home should be ages 16 or over, with no young visiting children. Bull breed experience is essential.

Karl

Karl (Manchester Dogs Trust)

Karl is a six month old Malinois who is full of energy and with a brain to match. He's looking for a family who will take him on long hikes and teach him plenty of tricks.

Karl has a cuddly side and loves to lean into you for a bit of a fuss.

Karl is still a young boy who lacks a lot of his basics and manners and so his adopters should be comfortable taking on a project.

He will need several hours of exercise a day and a secure private garden for additional off lead play.

Karl should be the only pet in the home but would like to continue to meet dogs out and about. His new home should have Shepherd experience to help manage some of his behaviours.

Karl can live with children aged 16 and over, but leaving hours and car travel should be minimal initially.

Lexi

Lexi (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Lexi is an eight year old Jack Russell Terrier who loves to be on the go, especially when it involves food or treats.

She loves chasing tennis balls and having a fuss once she gets to know you, but can get nervous with too much handling.

Lexi can also be reactive at times so prefers her walks in nice quiet areas.

She will need a home with a private secure garden and where she can be separated from the front door. Lexi would like a quiet home with minimal visitors and no young visiting children. Her new home should have minimal leaving hours that can be built up slowly.

She can live with children ages 16 and over, but must be the only pet in the home.

Due to her high chase drive and reactivity, Lexi will be going home on a lead disclaimer so must be kept on lead when out in public.

Lord Flashheart

Lord Flashheart (RSPCA Salford and Manchester)

Lord Flashheart is a Guinea pig aged between six and 12 months with a charming personality and a love of food and treats.

His foster carers say he is not keen on being picked up, but he has been getting used to having his hair groomed.

Lord Flashheart was castrated on 31 January and has fully healed from the operation. He is housed indoors and can begin living alongside a lady pig (or a group) now until introductions can be made from 14 March.

Lupin

Lupin is one year old bunny who is very friendly and full of energy.

She loves attention and thrives on human company, so she would make a great house rabbit. The RSPCA team say that she keeps her pen clean, too.

Lupin has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. She could potentially live with a male rabbit and with children of a secondary school age.

Max

Max (Manchester Dogs Trust)

Max is a 12 year old Whippet cross who, despite his age, is very active and likes to say hello to other friendly dogs.

Max has been unsettled when left for long periods of time, so his leaving hours should be relatively low in his new home.

He has previously escaped the back garden on several occasions and so his new home should have a private secure garden with six foot fencing all around.

Max can live with children ages 11 and up and would prefer to be the only dog in the home.

Mylo

Mylo (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Mylo is a one year old Lurcher who enjoys going for long walks in new places and meeting other dogs. He's also very affectionate and loves a fuss.

He's looking for a new home with a private, secure garden and a non open plan interior. He doesn't like car journeys and while he is friendly with other dogs, he will need to be the only pet in the home because he likes his own space.

His adopters should have minimal leaving hours and he can live with children ages 16 and over. He can't have any younger children visiting.

Magenta and Cobalt

Magenta and Cobalt (RSPCA Salford and Manchester)

Magenta (black and white) and Cobalt (all grey) are two female cats who are the best of friends.

Their foster carer says that Magenta more confident while Cobalt is more timid, but they both like a fuss. They're described as 'complete opposites but each perfect in their own way.'

They are estimated to be around two to three years old. They are neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and looking for a quiet, restful home without other cats or dogs.

Cobalt will not cope with young children, so anyone in the house must be of teen age and they will need the option to go outdoors and play.

Marley

Marley (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Marley is a male eight-year-old Presa Canario cross Mastiff. He is ready to find a quiet home to settle into.

He can be quite nervous around new people - especially men - but becomes more confident once he gets to know you.

He loves going on walks and exploring new places - but he can be very strong on his lead and is a big dog, so will need adopters who are comfortable with his strength and size.

Marley will suit a quiet home that can keep visitors to a minimum. He can live with children aged 16 or over who are comfortable with big dogs.

He will need his own secure garden with six foot fencing and will need to be the only pet in the household. Large Breed experience would be preferable but if not adopters should do some research into this first.

Midnight

Midnight (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Midnight is an eight year old Patterdale terrier who loves spending time with his favourite people, having a gentle fuss and eating treats.

He's looking for a quiet and predictable home to build his confidence in, as he's quite sensitive.

Midnight would need his own private secure garden and could live with children age 16 and up, but he can't have any young children visiting.

She isn't old enough to be neutered yet but can be introduced to a neutered male rabbit. Naomi is looking for a gentle home with adopters who will take the time to sit and bond with her.

Naomi is a petite bunny and so she won't be ready for neutering until she is around 6 months old. This will be arranged by the RSPCA branch either at their designated vets, or up to £100 will be contributed for a vet of your choice.

She is fully vaccinated and microchipped and could live with children of secondary school age. She could be a house rabbit if she is given enough to keep her entertained.

Peanut

Peanut (Manchester Dogs Home)

Peanut is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross who is very energetic and loves attention.

She is very playful but sometimes can get over excited, which leads to her mouthing a lot. So, Peanut will need adopters who are confident with this behaviour and happy to follow advice from the Dogs Trust team.

Peanut loves going for long walks and is great travelling in the car, but is under socialised with new dogs.

Her new home should be adults only who are confident with bouncy dogs. She will need a medium-large private garden with a minimum of six foot fencing.

She will need to be the only dog in the home and will need to be on a lead around other dogs while out and about.

Breed experience/knowledge is essential to understand the behaviours of this breed.

Penny

Penny (Manchester Dogs Trust)

Penny is a three year old saluki cross Lurcher, who loves to get out and about in the car and go on adventures in quieter areas.

Her favourite walks include water, where she will happily paddle.

It takes Penny time to be comfortable with new people, so it's important her new home is patient. She can be reactive to strangers, so she will need access to quiet walks.

A private, secure garden with solid six foot fencing would also be needed.

Penny is looking for an adult only home with no visiting children and minimal visitors.

She will need to be the only pet in the home, but she does like to make doggy friends - and tends to gain confidence from small calm dogs, so is happy to go for walks with them.

Dave is happy to be picked up and held, Ray not so keen. However, both love settling on a lap for a snooze and a stroke.

The boys are on a regular diet, have no ongoing health issues and are neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. They are looking for an adult only home and could be house cats in a home that's three bed or bigger.

She had a best friend who she lived with until recently, but sadly they fell ill.

Victoria has been lost without her companion and would benefit for a neutered, male companion who is sensitive in nature like her.

The RSPCA said: "She isn't bold or brave at all, in fact her personality is nothing like a Dutch bunny and it breaks our hearts that she has lived such a terrible life that her spirit has been dampened so much.

"So now we want to do all we can to restore her happiness and find her a garden and furry best friend to enjoy the life she deserves."

Vinnie

Vinnie (Dogs Trust Manchester)

Vinnie is a one-year-old large crossbreed who loves playing with his toys and going on walks to new places.

He loves to learn new things and will need to be homed with a family who is willing to train him.

He can be both excitable and anxious and tends to mouth his owners when overwhelmed.

He's looking to be homed with a patient, experienced family who are confident around large breeds.

Vinnie should be the only pet in the home and cannot live with children.

Vinnie will need minimal leaving hours that are built up slowly and a medium-large private secure garden.

He is still nervous of the car so local walks in quiet areas would be preferred initially.

They can live with children aged 14 and over but need to be the only pets in the home.

Wyatt and Shona are looking to have their own private good sized secure garden for relaxing and playing. The pair are friendly with

Knowledge of their breeds would be preferable, but if not their potential adopters should research before applying.
