Heavy metal's original madman, Ozzy Osbourne's career is the ultimate testament to heavy metal's ability to triumph over the odds. A working class lad from Aston, Birmingham, Ozz went from a string of unsatisfying day jobs to helping invent and define the nascent metal genre with Black Sabbath, spawning a globe-spanning genre in the process.
Fired from Sabbath in April 1979, Ozzy went on to even greater commercial success as a solo artist, his records going multi-platinum while he played increasingly massive gigs throughout the 80s.
