The 450-tonne 35-metre high art installation that you might be able to see across the Channel

It is 15 metres higher than the Angel of the North, weighs 450-tonne, has a 10-metre waterfall and is just around an hour away from south Wales. The See Monster is a decommissioned North Sea oil rig that has been transformed into an interactive art installation in the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare.

And it opens to the public for the first time on Saturday, September 24. It features four publicly accessible levels that play host to a wild garden of plants, grasses and trees, and is free to visit.

The installation also includes an amphitheatre, a multi-level slide, a 6,000-piece kinetic installation forming the monster's "scales" and a 10-metre waterfall.
