There's nothing like getting away from it all when you go on holiday.
But if you want a secluded break without the hassle of long-haul travel, queues at passport control and constantly changing covid restrictions then there's a holiday cottage off the coast of Anglesey that might just be perfect.
Forget Rihanna, the Beckhams and all the other A-listers jetting off to private islands to drink cocktails and holiday in complete privacy, for a fraction of the price UK holiday makers can take a break at a cottage on its own private island from just - relatively speaking at least - £1,840 a week depending on the time of year you go.
That said, it's off the coast of Anglesey so you're likely to need a big coat more often than you're going to need slinky beachwear - of course cocktails are ideal whatever the weather.
Speed boats are also entirely optional.
You can access your idyllic escape without one if you keep an eye on tide times and drive across the causeway from of Menai Bridge when the tide is low, although the owners say you can moor a boat if you'd like.
Ynys Castell sleeps thirteen people across seven bedrooms and there's even room to bring your pet dog.
Each room in the two-storey property, which can cost up to £3,000 to hire for a week in high season, offers stunning panoramic views of the Menai Strait as well as the mountains of Snowdonia.
There's a fully stocked kitchen packed so foodies can whip up a feast to enjoy in the spacious dining room.
And after the meal guests can adjourn to one of two different large living rooms.
There's plenty of sofa space for socialising in both and even a wood-burning stove perfect to snuggle in front of if the weather is a bit cooler than one might hope.
There's also full wifi, flat screen TV, full heating, books, toys, games and everything you need to keep you amused while you're cut off from the rest of the world which, depending on the time of year and weather, works out about eight hours a day.
Ynys Castell has a slipway down to the Strait perfect for watching the passing boats in the summer months, although the house's owners do warn young guests and anyone unsteady on their feet should be careful around the cliffs and seashore which is close to the main house.
If you're brave enough to trust your timekeeping, there's even room to park four cars on the island - just make sure that you park above the high water level and make it home before the tide turns.
Ynys Castell is available to book for a minimum of two nights.
