Almost 30 companies based in the North West are part-owned by the UK Government through its £1.1bn Future Fund.
The fully invested debt to equity fund managed by the British Business Bank, has an equity stake in 400 firms in the UK.
The owner of Bolton Wanderers is one such firm after the investment was revealed towards the start of 2022.

The Future Fund was launched on May 20, 2020, and was open for applications until January 31, 2021.
The British Business Bank periodically issues updates on new companies the fund has invested in.
