West Ham United’s first-team squad are currently on a three-day training camp in the Algarve in Portugal ahead of the Hammers’ Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina next Wednesday.
Following the conclusion of the Hammers ’ Premier League season on Sunday with a 2-1 defeat away at now-relegated Leicester City, David Moyes, his staff and first-team squad jetted off to the Algarve for a three-day warm weather training camp ahead of the meeting with Fiorentina in Prague in eight days’ time.
The club have published on their website that 22 of their 23 senior players have travelled to Portugal for a brief warm weather training camp ahead of their first European final since 1976. The only senior player not to travel is Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca who is currently recovering from knee surgery in Italy.

On top of the 22 senior players as part of the squad training in Portugal, two academy players have also joined the group for the trip. Striker Divin Mubama and midfielder Freddie Potts, who have both played for the first-team this year in the competition, have been pictured as part of the group.
Because of the Europa Conference League rules, West Ham could well name at least one academy player in the matchday squad to face Fiorentina in the final, with 23 players permitted and only a maximum of 22 senior players likely to be involved due to Scamacca’s injury.
While the Hammers have eight more days to prepare for the final, Fiorentina’s Serie A campaign does not finish until Friday night, when they head to Sassuolo.
Going into that game, Fiorentina sit ninth in the table, behind Monza in eighth on head-to-head record. Should Fiorentina win against Sassuolo and Monza drops points away at Atalanta, Fiorentina will end the season in eighth, just shy of a European finish which is granted for top-seven clubs only.
The 24 West Ham United players in Algarve training camp:
