It’s been less than a year since Porsche debuted the first-ever electric Cayenne, but that hasn’t stopped the German automaker from giving its flagship SUV a few improvements.
The 2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric, which is available to order now in the United States, can be specced with a few new optional features that make it stand even higher in the luxury car hierarchy. For the first time in the Cayenne’s history—which goes all the way back to 2002—the electric SUV can be optionally specced with electric doors.
All four doors can be controlled from inside or outside, through the door handles, the buttons in the cabin, the curved Flow Display on the center console, or remotely via the Porsche Digital Key. The driver’s door also automatically closes when the seatbelt is fastened or the brake pedal is pressed.
Porsche said the system is designed to work seamlessly in pretty much any conditions, including on inclines, with a set of servo motors doing all the heavy lifting. A sensor suite monitors the area around the doors at all times and stops the doors from opening or closing if a person or an obstacle is detected. What’s more, the system can prevent the doors from opening if the exit warning feature detects that another vehicle is approaching.
The system, which has been popularized by ultra-luxury automakers like Rolls-Royce, first made an appearance in Porsche’s portfolio when the Cayenne Electric Coupe debuted four months ago. However, the feature has not been available to order until now.
It’s also worth noting that the doors can still be opened and closed manually, even if the car is fitted with electric doors.
But that’s not all. The 2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric can now be optioned with front massaging seats that also feature a 4D audio function. Each of the front seats has 16 air cushions and six sound actuators in the backrests and seat cushions, with a total of five massage programs, each with adjustable intensity levels and selectable vibration settings.
Porsche says the integrated sound actuators create a four-dimensional musical experience, though the massaging function can be activated independently of the music function.
For 2027, the Cayenne Electric joins the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur Paint-to-Sample program, which is a fancy way of saying that owners can pay more money to get their car painted in pretty much any way they want. The custom finishes total 105 colors, which come on top of the 13 standard and optional colors.

Inside, the Extended Package Interior Style, which adds additional leather-trimmed surfaces and decorative stitching, is now available for the battery-powered EV. For those who want to personalize their car’s interior even further, Porsche offers leather and Race-Tex options.
The starting prices and tech specs of the 2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric remain unchanged. The Base Cayenne Electric SUV starts at $111,350, while the top-spec Cayenne Turbo Electric Coupe starts at $170,350, including destination, processing, and handling.
Whatever the trim, the Cayenne EV comes with a dual-motor setup and a 108-kilowatt-hour (usable) battery that can be recharged from 10% to 80% in as little as 16 minutes. That’s all thanks to the 800-volt architecture that enables a charging power of up to 400 kilowatts.
Depending on the version, the Cayenne Electric’s driving range is between 298 and 339 miles on a full charge. Meanwhile, the power output ranges between 435 and 1,139 horsepower, which is just ridiculous for a family car.
