A woman who says she was struggling to choose between buying food or topping up her electricity is swearing by a new gadget that keeps her warm for just 1p a night. Rachel Pugh said she was struggling to keep up with rising costs after being forced to move into a flat with a pre-payment meter.
She said that on "several occasions" she had been "forced to choose between buying food or topping up the electric", with the current rise of energy prices being an "absolute nightmare" and "scary". She said it got so bad she never turned on the central heating and was unwell due to her flat being so cold.
But she said that after getting a Lakelend heated fleece throw, she will never need to put the central heating on again. According to Lakeland, some heated throws cost as little as 1p a night. So Rachel put that to the test.
