The 1975 star Matty Healy appeared to offer an on-stage apology to his ex Taylor Swift this week just days after the pair split.
At the band's gig in Dublin on Wednesday (June 7), the 34-year old frontman spraypainted "Sorry?" in huge letters on a banner that formed part of the stage's backdrop.
The couple called time on their whirlwind relationship last week, which appeared to begin quickly in the wake of Taylor's break-up from long-term boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
Performing at Dublin's St Anne’s Park, meanwhile, 'The Sound' singer Matty took the time to emblazon a white background with the cryptic message in black, whilst his bandmate Jamie Squire was busy singing a cover of Leon Russell’s 'A Song For You'.
Later the singer, who also played a solo acoustic set, appeared worse for wear as he made a couple of musical errors after downing several pints of the nation's favourite, Guinness.
Glass in hand, he addressed the crowd: "It is not even normal, it is just because it is so nice.
"But you drink so much of it like it is some kind of milk that then you forget the songs so I came in at the wrong time then.
"I thought it was quite dramatic as well, I was making my way over here and it was all eye contact and just a p****d bloke."
Fans later noticed Matty's two other bandmates - drummer George Daniel and guitarist Adam Hann looking concerned for their singer as they exchanged whisperings as their singer floundered around the stage.
Prior to reports about their break-up, meanwhile, it was claimed that Matty saw the relationship as serious and that he wanted to 'settle down and have children' with Taylor.
A source had told Closer magazine : "Matty's telling the world this is the real deal - they're building a long-term future, and marriage and kids are his goal, assuming it all works out."
The source however said at the time that Taylor's friends were under the impression that it was a "rebound" relationship that has the "potential for something more".
It was further claimed by the source that Matty was trying to "play things coy" in public but that he wasn't "holding back" while talking about it with his loved ones.
The source had stated: "He's letting it be known just how smitten he is and that it's the most serious he's been about a romance for an extremely long time, if ever."
