Matty Healy once again got everyone talking in Newcastle on Wednesday night as he tucked into a slab of raw meat, ut stayed true o his Geordie heritage by washing it down with a bottle of Brown Ale.
If there's one thing you can be guaranteed when The 1975 come to down, it's one hell of a show and that's just what the Brit winning band gave the Geordie faithful who packed out the Utilita Arena. The reviews from the At Their Very Best tour had suggested that it wasn't your typical kind of gig, with a theatrical set and the chance of a few big names guests.
Matty was, as ever, the charismatic frontman as the band launched into a full repertoire of songs from latest album Being Funny in A Foreign Language, including Looking For Somebody to Love, Happiness and Oh Caroline. The two hour show was most definitely a spectacle of two halves and things took a bit of a turn near the end of the first, which featured a cameo from Matty's dad Tim Healy, when the singer chowed down on some raw meat, which was made more palatable to his captive audience, thanks to the appearance of a bottle of Newcy Brown.
