Amanda Staveley has revealed that Newcastle United's consortium has a staggered plan of action for the next 15 years.
When the Ripon financier first took over as club supremo she spoke of being able to challenge for the Premier League within a decade. In the Saudi-backed consortium's first full season they have reached a Carabao Cup final and are in the hunt for a Champions League place.
This week Staveley has spoken openly about a trophy haul for the Magpies with the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League all in the club's sights long-term. Speaking at the Financial Times' Business of football summit, Staveley spoke of the club's wealthy backers putting £200million of their own money into the club so far. But she insisted that it is a long-term vision at St James' Park.

Staveley said: "We have put in £200m plus to date of new money since we’ve bought the club and we have a business plan based on a five, ten, 15 year timeline. Critical to that plan was making sure we had the right partners and PIF are very long-term partners."
Staveley also gave some insight on to their 10 per cent holding in the club's ownership model. She said: "Our consortium is a hybrid, PIF are long-term investors, (husband) Mehrdad (Ghodoussi) and I are not that wealthy. We’re the poor partner and that helps govern a lot of the decisions."
When talking about why PIF and PCP Capital Partners opted for Newcastle, Staveley reflected: "When we looked at Newcastle we were very clear – prior to buying them – we wanted a club with a passionate fanbase. We got that.
"We also wanted a club we could buy affordably because we were also partners with PIF and they are effectively a pension fund, managing money for future generations."
