The £10k bungalow going to auction that's too dangerous to enter

Some auction lots are more focussed on location and potential rather than the property itself going under the hammer, and this bungalow in Carmarthenshire is arguably a perfect example.

Located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this bungalow is near the centre of the popular village of Cwmlynfell. It is also next to the main route, so direct and fast access to one of Wales' most spectacular areas plus larger urban centres at Ammanford and Ystalyfera, is at the bottom of the front garden.

Cwmlynfell has local shops and services, and the local road network can get you to larger urban centres such as Ystradgynlais and Ystalyfera, which are less than five miles away, or to Ammanford about 10 miles travelling in the opposite direction.

Called Penlan Bungalow, the property in the village of Cwmlynfell, Carmarthenshire (Seel & Co Auctions)

Called Penlan Bungalow, the property is of non-standard construction and in a derelict state so a bit of DIY, a lick of paint and some creative interior design is not going to flip this one from ramshackle to remarkable, but there is potential on this plot to ponder.

The auction house selling the bungalow and the plot states: "We are informed that the bungalow is arranged as one reception, two bedrooms, a kitchen and bathroom and sits in a good-sized level square plot on the edge of the local countryside.

"The plot is open for inspection but please advise the Seel & Co office if you would like to visit. Any viewing is taken at the party's own risk and we do not advise you try and enter the building."

The property is in a very poor condition so the most likely future for the plot is to demolish it and redevelop but this is, of course, subject to planning consent. But if you wanted an extreme renovation project in a building in a better state, there's a one-bed, off-grid cottage that might tempt you for £50k, find out more about that here.

People who follow property auctions in Wales might recognise Penlan Bungalow, not from the photographs of inside of the house as it's too dangerous to enter, but from the fact the property has been in a previous and recent auction.

According to the auction house, the bungalow was sold at their September auction for £51,500, but the buyer did not complete the purchase and it is therefore re-advertised at the original guide price.

Penlan Bungalow is going to online auction with Seel & Co on Tuesday, February 14. Bidding will commence from midday on Monday, February 13 and conclude in order from Lot 1 at 4pm. For further information go to the company's website or call 029 2037 0100.
