Chefs around the city will be busy planning menus and sorting out ingredients in the countdown to NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week which this January is set to be a record-breaker with 116 venues taking part.
It was announced this week that the week of discount deals at city centre restaurants will be back from January 16-22, with a range of £20, £15 or £10 options. And, with Restaurant Week on course to be the biggest yet, that means a whole lot of choice - as well as a big boost to the local economy.
As well as Newcastle regulars, newcomers are taking part too and these include the revamped Chart House on the Quayside; Pepo on Pilgrim Street and Thali Tray in its new home at Bealim House, Gallowgate.
