HGV Class 2 Driver
Salary: £13 per hour
The job advert explains that dnata catering provides inflight catering to the world's leading airlines including Newcastle Airport. The company is now looking for those who have recently completed their Class 2 LGV driver's license to take on an "exciting new opportunity to kick start your driving career".
With no prior driving experience necessary, those working as drivers at Newcastle could earn £13 per hour with the added bonus of no traffic jams. It is a permanent contract with 40 hours per week on offer with night shift work also available at an agreed 20% uplift on the "usual rate of pay".
The role will see the successful applicant load the bar and catering equipment onto 17-tonne rigid vehicles, load the aircraft with the bar and catering equipment and drive vehicles from the freight terminal to airside making sure the goods and catering packages are delivered on time.
Employees get free meals and drink on site as well as dental, optical, and treatment cover through their Simply Health Cash Plan. The job advert says as you will be joining the company during peak season there will be "plenty of overtime opportunities paying premium rates".
Commis Chef at the Quaystone Bar
Salary: £11.50 per hour with an additional £1.20 per hour worked between 12am – 6am
SSP is offering a number of job roles as part of its "exciting and ambitious plans" at Newcastle Airport. The company is looking for full-time permanent Commis Chefs to come and join the team at Quaystone Bar.
The company is looking for someone to cover a variety of shifts between 2am and 11.30pm including weekends but the advert says that those interested can surely find something matching their flexibility.
There are a number of employee benefits including a free meal on shift and a refer a friend scheme which means you get rewarded with £400 every time you successfully refer a friend. The company also offers award-winning training and development with access to apprenticeships.

As a chef, you will work a variety of shifts between 2am and 11pm but the advert says: "With our friendly atmosphere and shared passion for food, you will feel like it's your second home".
It is the perfect opportunity for you if you have a "can-do attitude" and a "strong sense of teamwork". In this role, you will assist with the food preparation and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and food rotation as well as helping with deliveries and restocking the kitchen.
Someone with previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. Employees will enjoy the job perks offered by SSP mentioned in the previous job role.
Deputy Manager at Burger King
Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum plus bonus
Described as an "exciting new challenge" that offers "great benefits and opportunities to grow", SSP is looking for a Deputy Manager at the airport's Burger King. The job advert also says it gives the successful candidate a "chance to take their career to a whole new level".
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Deputy Manager's working week will be varied from being "hands-on and leading the team from the front", to assisting the General Manager in "recruiting, training and meeting key financial targets". Previous experience of coaching and mentoring in a quick-service restaurant or similar environment is key.
The advert says: "In return for your skills and experience, we offer you a rewarding and vibrant working environment, real and achievable career opportunities, and excellent training and development to enhance your existing skills to develop your career in to different brands, more senior management roles or support functions."

The Team Leader will lead the shift and motivate the team to drive sales while following opening, closing and shift changeover procedures. They will also have to ensure the cleaning schedules are followed with all cleaning monitored and ensure cash procedures are followed by all staff.
Team Leader or supervisor experience within the retail or hospitality sector is required for this role and previous SSP benefits mentioned earlier will be available to new employees.
Team Leader at Caffe Ritazza
Salary: £10.41 per hour with an additional £1.50 per hour worked between 12am – 6am

Team Member at Burger King
Salary: £9.50 per hour with an additional £1.20 per hour worked between 12am – 6am
SSP is looking for full-time and part-time Team Members to join Burger King at Newcastle Airport. As a team member, you will work a variety of shifts between 2am and 11pm.
In this role, you will have to demonstrate knowledge of the brand and products to advise customers in a "professional and helpful manner" while maintaining all unit displays. You will also be expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance in all work areas.
Team Member at Cabin Bar
Salary: £9.50 per hour with an additional £1.20 per hour worked between 12am – 6am
There are full-time and part-time Team Member positions up for grabs at Cabin Bar where you will work a variety of shifts between 4am and 9pm. It doesn't matter if you don't have any experience as you will be taught everything you need to know in this role.
Again, you will need to maintain all unit displays in accordance with brand standards and demonstrate knowledge of products to advise customers in a professional and helpful manner. Applicants will need to be 18 years of age or over to perform certain tasks or work on certain shifts.
