Arguably one of the best parts of a night out is the satisfaction of devouring some sort of grease, especially after a particularly heavy one. Leeds has no shortage of takeaways to fulfil that need but often the choices can be quite divisive.
We have put together a list of what we think are the best post-booze foods to find across the city. We've got you covered with kebabs, pizza, fish and chips and sandwiches so don't worry if you're a fussy eater, this list is in no particular order, it's just some of the most popular places to go in the city.
These takeaways can be found across Leeds, in Headingley, Burley and the city centre. Most of them are open until the early hours, which is what you want at the end of the night.

Mill Hill Kebabs
Located very close to Leeds station is Mill Hill Kebabs, describing itself as an 'unpretentious' burger and kebab joint. It offers a range of carbs, things covered with cheese and garlic mayo smothered items to Leeds' patrons.
Mill Hill offers everything, kebabs, wraps, pizzas, cheesy sides, drinks, you name it it's on the menu. One of the best things about Mill Hill is how late it stays open. After all, there's nothing worse than getting to the end of the night and finding nowhere available for a post-drink meal.
Flames
Flames is located in Woodhouse, pretty much in The University of Leeds so it's very popular among the student population. Flames has some of the highest reviews on JustEat and Deliveroo so it's hard to argue with its pedigree.
Like Mill Hill, they serve pizzas, kebabs, burgers, and chicken as well as a range of combo meals and vegan alternatives. It's very hard to dismiss any place that has a burger called 'The Codfather', it speaks for itself.
Crispy Fish and Chips
Crispy Fish and Chips is a fish and kebab takeaway on Headingley Lane. The Headingley strip is often the main route into town following an Otley run so you might even consider this to be a stop off before the night gets even messier.
One of the unique selling points of Crispy is the fact that it hosts takeaway raves. It's exactly what it sounds like, the lights are turned down, the music is turned up and customers can dance with a kebab in one hand and good vibes in the other.
McDonald's
This might seem a bit obvious but McDonald's across the city is always heaving with people, little receipts in hand waiting for their number to be called. Both the McDonalds on Briggate and on Merrion St receive floods of people heading home for the night and to be honest, if you want something a bit less filling than a whole pizza or kebab then Maccies is a good shout.
City Bites
Open until 3am every night of the week, City Bites on Bridge End is one of the greats. Any takeaway that sells novelty themed burgers is a must-visit establishment. Also, for those visiting from Middlesborough or the northeast, they sell parmos and there are not a lot of places that sell those in the city. They also offer a range of cheesecakes if you have a sweet tooth.
Zam Zam
Ever wanted a freshly made chicken biryani or a hot naan at the end of the night? Zam Zam is the place to go. Located on New Briggate, Zam Zam is an Indian restaurant that's small inside but big on taste.
One of the chefs mans the curry station, where each dish is made pretty much from scratch and served straight away and the portions are enough to cater for the inevitable hangover the next day. It's the perfect place if you want something a bit different.
Mr T's
Mr T's is a colourful takeaway on Burley Road, serving wings, burgers, handmade donner kebabs and peri peri chicken. It prides itself on being fresh which can be a difficult thing to find at some late-night establishments.
Mr T's is located on the main road into town, so it might be a good place to stop off in the taxi if you want to get away from the busy streets of the city.
HFC Chicken
This place is coming for Colonel Sander's gig and some say it's actually better than the 11 herbs and spices. Located on Brudenell Road, Headingley Fried Chicken (HFC) sells pretty much anything you might fancy with a bit of spice.
They sell boneless meals, wraps, pittas and Piri Piri rice boxes so they cater pretty well to almost all wants. They're also really within budget for students.
Fortune Cookie
Seen as a lot of takeaways tend to be burgers, kebabs and chicken you might be in the mood for a Chinese after a night out and Fortune Cookie might be the one to scratch that itch. Open until 1am, Fortune Cookie sells all the typical things you find in a Chinese takeaway. Salt and pepper chicken, crispy duck, soups (if you fancy that on a night out) and various sides and desserts.
64 Pizzeria
64 Pizzeria on Burley Road prides itself on its freshly made pizzas with 100% mozzarella cheese as well as its range of pasta. They offer all the traditional toppings as well as extras if you want to customise your own, they also vegan burgers and wraps.
Dixy Chicken
Just a few minutes away from the St John's Centre on New Briggate, Dixy Chicken offers no-nonsense fried chicken and chip dishes to eat in or take out. If the obvious go to chicken place isn't for you then Dixy might work better - who wouldn't fancy a bucket of chicken after a few too many?
