The best superhero games let you suit up and take on the role of some of the most iconic comic book characters, or step into the ultimate fantasy as you play out your own action-packed adventure complete with superpowers, sprawling locations, and plenty of bad guys to take down. Over the years, we've seen superhero games of all shapes and sizes, with plenty of experiences out there that dip into different genres.
2026 is a particularly big year for superhero fans, with some exciting upcoming Marvel games, such as Marvel: TOKON Fighting Souls, on the horizon, and Marvel's Wolverine set to release sometime this year as well. On the DC side of things, we're also set to get a new Batman game, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. And finally, within the movie world, a new Avengers flick and James Gunn's fresh DC Universe is underway, with Supergirl next on the docket. Basically, hype around the genre is still sky-high, and the itch to embody your favorite do-gooder is only going to get stronger as the months go by.
