When it comes to the best Silent Hill games, few other gaming experiences can match the narrative complexity and unnerving building of tension. However, this franchise has been around for decades, and, understandably, there are masterpieces as well as a few duds sprinkled throughout the spooky timeline. Luckily, I've played through every Silent Hill game there is, and have found the top 10 that stand the test of time.
Below is my ranking of the greatest hits in one of the most memorable survival horror series ever created. That means that you'll find classics that may be tricky to play today on modern consoles, as well as fresh entries like Silent Hill f that take us away from the titular town in Maine, USA. Basically, be it a mainline title or a spin-off, every Silent Hill game has been considered here, since both have given us some of the best survival horror games and the greatest video game enemies around (hello, Pyramid Head). And it's also worth noting that my ranking may change in the near future since a bunch of new games (such as Silent Hill Townfall and a remake of the first Silent Hill) are on the horizon.
