Now that the Wild Card round in the 2024 NFL playoffs is over, we know a few things about Super Bowl 58.
There will be no rematch (sorry, Philadelphia Eagles fans). We won’t get to see Mike McDaniel head coaching on the big stage this year (sorry, Miami Dolphins fans). We won’t get one very old school matchup (sorry, Dallas Cowboys fans).
So what’s left in terms of extremely watchable Super Bowl matchups with the remaining teams? Great question! We’re ranking the 10 best possible matchups to root for involving the eight remaining teams. One is extremely chalky, but that’s OK!
Here we go:
10
Green Bay Packers vs. Houston Texans
The rooting-for-chaos pick, plus two young quarterbacks taking over and proving they’re the future. Who wins? Who knows? That’s the fun of this one.
9
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Houston Texans
Similarly chaotic, but, come on: Wouldn’t Baker Mayfield in the Super Bowl be so fun?
8
Green Bay Packers vs. Buffalo Bills
A better matchup than you think.
7
Detroit Lions vs. Houston Texans
The best possible matchup I could find to get the Lions their best chance at winning one.
6
San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The Super Bowl 54 Revenge Game? Put me down for one of these, even if the current Chiefs aren’t the Chiefs of that season.
5
Detroit Lions vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The one that pulls at fans’ heartstrings. Do you root for the team Taylor Swift now roots for? Or for the one that’s never won a Super Bowl?
4
Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens
A fun game for sure, no doubt about it.
3
San Francisco 49ers vs. Buffalo Bills
Old school, new school, just a great, entertaining matchup.
2
Detroit Lions vs. Buffalo Bills
Two teams who have never won it. One team emerges with a Super Bowl victory. THE DRAMA!
1
San Francisco 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens
It’s the two No. 1 seeds, but: They’re both so good, there’s the revenge game factor from earlier this year … yeah, this deserves to be No. 1.
