The best Minecraft texture packs can make you feel like you're playing a whole new game. Also known as resource packs since Java Edition 1.6.1, texture packs change up the look of the game without being as substantial (or as resource-heavy) as the best Minecraft shaders.
Essentially, a texture pack adds a new skin to your existing blocks so it changes what you're looking at. Such texture packs can be relatively subtle, just making blocks look smoother. Others can make things look much more realistic or even cartoony. As with many Minecraft things, your only limitation is your imagination.
