Jimmy Buffett, whose music, fashion and chill state of mind went beyond his successful career as a recording artist, died on Sept. 1, according to his website. He was 76.
Buffett — a huge supporter of the Miami Heat who sang the National Anthem before the 2019 NFC title game — had become an icon for his fans, the group called the Parrotheads, and his concerts would be filled with die-hards who loved his Hawaiian shirts and brand of rock that you could listen to on a boat or beach or bar. He also spawned lines of Margaritaville merch, LandShark Beer, resorts and restaurants.
