Children's entertainer Ms Rachel has said warnings that her Gaza advocacy could cost her partnerships and views will not stop her from speaking out for Palestinian children. Her comments come as renewed attention follows the controversy over Macklemore's removal from Ed Sheeran's US tour.
Ms Rachel's stance underscores her determination to use her platform for advocacy, even as she acknowledges the risks to her career and audience reach.
Ms Rachel Says Gaza Backlash 'Doesn't Faze' Her
Ms Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Anne Accurso, addressed the backlash in a Rolling Stone interview. She said criticism over her posts about Gaza initially left her questioning why people objected to her concern for children.
Ms Rachel said criticism surrounding her comments on the war in Gaza had been more aggressive than backlash she had received over other issues she has discussed publicly.
Ms Rachel posts frequently on platforms including Instagram and Threads, using them to discuss Gaza, share fundraisers and call attention to children affected by the conflict. The publication described her as increasingly focused on whether her advocacy can change public attitudes.
She also said she had been warned that continuing to speak about Gaza could affect her commercial relationships and audience.
'You're gonna lose this partnership. You're gonna lose views. That doesn't faze me because the kids gave me the platform. I'm going to stand with them no matter what,' she said
Ms Rachel added that she intended to continue standing with children in Gaza, saying people on the ground there were 'risking their lives all the time' to help children.
Ms Rachel's Gaza Advocacy
Ms Rachel has repeatedly used her social media platforms to advocate for children affected by the war in Gaza, while also expressing support for children affected by conflicts elsewhere.
Her advocacy has previously attracted criticism from some pro-Israel organisations and commentators. She has also faced online harassment and threats connected to her public activism.

In 2024, Ms Rachel launched a fundraising campaign through Cameo, with proceeds going to Save the Children's Emergency Fund for children affected by conflicts including Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
She has since continued posting about the humanitarian situation in Gaza and speaking about the need to protect children.
Her activism has also generated controversy over her social media activity.
In January 2026, Ms Rachel apologised after appearing to like an Instagram comment containing antisemitic language. She said she had intended to delete the comment and had accidentally liked it instead.
Macklemore Controversy Brings Fresh Attention
The renewed attention on Ms Rachel's Gaza advocacy comes as she has publicly criticised Ed Sheeran over Macklemore's removal from the remaining US dates of his Loop Tour.
Macklemore was removed from the remaining US dates following his pro-Palestinian remarks during his performances at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium on 4 and 5 September.
He called for a 'Free Palestine' and performed his song 'Hind's Hall', which addresses the war in Gaza.
Ms Rachel criticised Sheeran on Instagram after the tour change became public, accusing him of 'caving' and arguing that silence over Gaza was not neutral.

She also questioned why Sheeran had publicly supported Ukraine in 2022 but, in her view, had not taken a comparable public position on Gaza.

Sheeran has since said the decision to remove Macklemore was made by tour promoter Messina Touring Group and the venues, rather than by him. Messina Touring Group said venues had warned that concerts could not go ahead with Macklemore on the line-up.
