Jonathon Woodgate has claimed that Thiago Alcantara’s introduction ‘made the difference’ for Liverpool in their 3-1 win over Norwich City on Saturday.
The Reds found themselves 1-0 down shortly after half-time after Milot Rashica's deflected strike gave the Canaries a shock lead at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp responded by bringing on Thiago on the hour mark and by the 67th minute his side had taken the lead thanks to goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
The Spaniard’s vision and range of passing were essential in helping to break down Norwich’s stubborn resistance.

And Woodgate hailed Thiago’s impact, claiming that Klopp’s decision to bring him on changed the game.
“Thiago absolutely ran the game after coming on. He quickened the pace and slowed it down when he wanted to," the former Leeds United, Real Madrid and England defender told BBC Radio 5 Live .
“He made the difference. That change from Jurgen Klopp won them the game.”
Luis Diaz wrapped up the three points with his first goal for the club and the victory meant Liverpool closed the gap on league leaders Manchester City to six points.
Pep Guardiola’s side then suffered a shock 3-2 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, which means the Reds can cut their advantage to just three points if they beat Leeds United at Anfield on Wednesday.
The two sides meet at the Etihad on April 9 in a match that could prove pivotal to both club’s title aspirations.
