A loving mum and gran from Shotts is this week’s recipient of our Say it with Flowers tribute.
Jacqueline Duffy was nominated by her daughter Natalie Winter for going above and beyond for her family and was delighted to receive our award, courtesy of Pixie's Petals .
Jacqueline is the main carer for her husband, runs errands for her own parents on an almost daily basis, and also helps look after her one-year-old grandson.
Natalie, 32, explained: “My dad Peter sustained a head injury and is classed as disabled, he’s not fit to work anymore and has an issue with his memory. My mum is his carer and also helps look after my son Cameron so myself and my husband can get to work.
“I also run clubbercise classes in the Marble Club in Shotts and she’s always there, she never misses taking part and is always helping me out.”
As well as taking part in energetic fitness classes Jacqueline enjoys walking regularly and is a well-known face in the town.
Natalie continued: ”She’s a busy woman and has worked as a receptionist in the Burnbrae Medical Practice for the last 15 years. She always does what she can to help others. She’s one in a million and puts everybody else first.
“She spoils us at Christmas and puts money away every month to make sure we get presents and a lovely family meal on Christmas Day.
“We just want to show her just how much she means to us all and how precious she is. She’s the glue that holds our family together. She deserves this so much.”
When we heard about Jacqueline’s caring nature and how she helps others we were delighted to present her with this beautiful floral arrangement courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals florists in Newmains.
