Thank You, Paris! Day 2 Highlights from the Grand Slam 2026

It’s the final day in Paris!

The official renewal of the contract for the Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam by Mr Marius Vizer, IJF President and His Excellency Mr Battulga Khaltmaa Mongolian Judo Federation President was signed. And with that complete, the finals got underway.

At -81 kg, Yuhei OINO of Japan fought a tense battle that could only be decided by a yuko score. Gold for OINO.

International Judo Federation Ambassador Mr Albano CARRISI awarded the medals.

Szofi OZBAS of Hungary clinched the victory in golden score in the -70 kg final. Holding down her opponent to claim the victory.

She was awarded her medal by MET Group Chairman & CEO Mr Benjamin LAKATOS.

In an all-Japan final at -90 kg Goki TAJIMA stunned the crowd with an incredible driving O-uchi-gari. A true display of Judo values.

The medals were awarded by Métropole du Grand Paris President Mr Patrick OLLIER.

Alice BELLANDI of Italy, current World and Olympic champion, maintained her outstanding form, with gold in Paris.

Italian Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry H.E. Mr Francesco LOLLOBRIGIDA awarded the medals.

This is a big title, It’s a grand slam but it’s ‘the’ grand slam. Everyone wants to win this tournament, it’s not just a tournament.

-100 kg glory for Dota ARAI of Japan. A wonderfully timed footsweep catching his opponent and a beautiful display of respect.

He was awarded the gold medal by CEO of WoldQuant Mr Igor TULCHINSKY.

At +78 kg the crowd were elated as home hero Romane DICKO claimed her 3rd Paris Grand Slam Gold.

CIFP President The Honorable Sunil SABHARWAL awarded the medals.

In an all-Japan final in the +100 kg category, Kanta NAKANO was victorious. A well-fought technical battle earned NAKANO his second Grand Slam gold.

He was awarded the gold medal by Dentsu Group Deputy Chief Intelligence Officer Mr Masato IMAMURA.

A full selection of medals from the home team meant the fans had plenty to cheer for throughout the day.
