Innovations for smart city development from Thailand, China, Japan, Malaysia and South Korea will take centre stage during "Thailand Smart City Expo 2022" at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center's Hall 3-4, Ratchadaphisek Road, from Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 6pm.
Held for the first time by NCC Management & Development, the international smart city technology event will be a platform for experts from every corner of the globe to share their knowledge and provide ideas on how to select technologies and innovations to best match the identity of each city.
City administrators, community leaders project bidders, entrepreneurs, start-ups and interested individuals are invited to come and seek out the right products and technologies.
More than 300 booths will feature products and technologies covering seven industries -- energy management, smart home and building system, retail and industrial factory system, healthcare system, telecommunication system, transportation and mobility, and environment management system.
There will be seminars from smart city and 5G experts, business consultancy services, networking, smart robot demonstrations, and metaverse activities including AR technology and 3D interactive.
The Digital Economy Promotion Agency will showcase smart city technologies while the IOT Association will display the projects that they have worked with the public and private sectors, universities and start-ups at the IoT Pavilion. The association will also open a stage for start-ups to pitch ideas to investors, and hold seminars to share new technologies available to smart cities and on current technology trends.
This is also an opportunity to learn about interesting projects by the Smart City Innovative Research Academy at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.
They include Bangkok's underground monkey cheek project in Benchakitti Forest Park, a smart bus stop project that can give a real-time warning of dust pollution, the development of a 21km skycycle route along with airport rail link to promote tourism, public health and public space development, and a green space development project to turn unused land into learning centres or pocket parks.
