And TG4 paid tribute to the talented hurler as they shared some of his best moments representing both his club and county.
The video poignantly ends with an interview of Quirke speaking in a TV interview after his club won the 2018 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship where he describes the win as a 'savage feeling' and says the last time his club won it was when his father was playing back in 1997.
Quirke lined out in each of Tipperary's Munster Hurling Championship encounters this year, starting on each occasion.
Quirke's funeral will take place on Tuesday afternoon at 12 pm at St. John the Baptist Church, Clonoulty.
