London’s transport commissioner has publicly apologised after suggesting that some “good Samaritans” were scrawling graffiti on Tube trains in order to win plaudits by then removing it.
Andy Lord said in July that Transport for London had “evidence of people creating graffiti and then removing it” during a question-and-answer session at City Hall about the epidemic of graffiti vandalism on the Central and Bakerloo lines.
