Texas woman calls an Uber late at night. Then she claims a man identified himself as her driver, but his name didn’t match: ‘Why would you say that?’

A woman in Texas said a man approached her outside a bar and claimed to be her Uber driver. But she said she had not verified that he was the driver assigned to her Uber ride. TikTok creator Dianis (@diana_nluca) shared the encounter in a September 2026 video. She said in the caption that she was standing outside Mother’s Ruin in Austin waiting for a friend when the man approached her and said, “I’m your Uber driver; my car is right there.”

Dianis said she was sober and recognized what she described as a ruse. After her friend arrived, she began recording the man as he walked away. The man said he was trying to “break the ice,” and then complimented her on her outfit. In the video, Dianis calls after the man and says she thought he was her Uber driver.
