A 37-year-old Texas woman has been arrested and charged after investigators accused her of repeatedly taking a child to a former doctor's office where the child was allegedly sexually assaulted in exchange for prescription medication.

Alicia Evonne Sanchez, also known as Alicia Evonne Seguin, is accused of taking the child to former physician Kenneth Donald Haygood's office in Tyler on at least 10 occasions between 2019 and 2023. Investigators allege Sanchez remained in the room during the assaults and later received medication, including Adderall, from Haygood.

Haygood is already serving an eight-year prison sentence after pleading guilty in 2025 to two sexual assault charges in a separate case. Six other felony charges were dismissed as part of that plea agreement, including a charge involving sexual assault of a child. The current allegations against Haygood have not resulted in a new conviction.

Child Allegedly Taken To Doctor's Office

According to an arrest warrant affidavit reported by local news outlets, Sanchez took the child to Haygood's medical office several times a month for what were described as medical examinations.

The child allegedly told investigators that Haygood sexually assaulted them during the visits while Sanchez remained present. The affidavit states that the child cried and asked for the encounters to stop, while Sanchez allegedly held the child's arm and told them, 'This is what doctors do'.

The relationship between Sanchez and the child has not been publicly disclosed. Authorities have also withheld the child's gender and other identifying information.

KETK reported that the investigation began on 16 April 2026 after the child disclosed the alleged abuse. Investigators said the abuse began when the child was around seven and continued until about the age of 13. The reported incidents occurred between 27 March 2019 and 15 August 2023.

Adderall Allegedly Given After Abuse

Investigators allege that Haygood prescribed Adderall to the child after some of the visits. The medication is commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy.

According to the arrest affidavit, the child rarely received the medication. Sanchez allegedly emptied the tablets into clear plastic bags and told the child they were being given to people who could not obtain prescriptions from their own doctors or because of a medication shortage.

The allegations came to light after the child told another adult and a counsellor about the alleged abuse and the medication. Sanchez was arrested on 30 September and remains in the Smith County Jail on a $3 million (about £2.3 million) bond.

Haygood Already Serving Prison Sentence

Haygood pleaded guilty in September 2025 and received an eight-year prison sentence for two sexual-assault charges. Six other charges were dismissed as part of the agreement, according to KLTV. He is required to register as a sex offender for life.

The earlier case involved allegations that Haygood sexually assaulted patients during medical examinations. Prosecutors had also brought charges including aggravated sexual assault of a child and practising medicine without a licence, but those charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Haygood's medical licence had been restricted by the Texas Medical Board in 2023 before he was later suspended. KETK reported that the board had restricted him from seeing female patients before the suspension took effect.

Sanchez faces a potential sentence of 25 years to life if convicted of continuous sexual assault of a child under 14 under Texas law. The allegations against her have not been proven in court.
