A bizarre incident unfolded in Fort Worth, Texas, this week when deputies discovered 18-year-old Aaron Richard in a wrecked pickup truck covered in blood that did not belong to him. The perplexing situation began when deputies responded to reports of an accident off Interstate 20 and found Richard sitting in his white 1997 Chevrolet pickup on Monday night.
Deputies noted a significant amount of dried blood on both the pickup and Richard himself. The vehicle exhibited visible damage to the driver's side door, tailgate, and front left quarter panel. Additionally, the rear window of the pickup had writing on it.
Despite questioning from authorities, Richard remained uncooperative and refused to disclose the origin of the blood. He was wearing a Walmart Auto Care Center work shirt with the name tag Anthony at the time of the incident.
Further examination of the pickup revealed blood streaks along the driver's side A-frame and the outside of the bed. Investigators were stunned to learn that the blood found on Richard and his vehicle did not stem from the crash that caused the damage.
Richard was arrested for driving while intoxicated and taken to the Lon Evans Correctional Center. He was later released on a $500 bond as the investigation into the mysterious blood continues.
The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office has not disclosed whether the individual whose blood was present was harmed or if they are still in danger. The circumstances surrounding Richard's crash remain undisclosed as well.
Local reports indicate that Richard is currently on six months' probation for a disorderly conduct charge in Haltom City, located near Fort Worth. Investigators are urging the public to come forward with any information that could shed light on the source of the blood and the events leading up to Richard's wreck.
