Recent heavy rains in the Houston area have caused widespread flooding, leading to the closure of several schools in Texas. The severe weather conditions have resulted in numerous rescues, including individuals stranded on rooftops.

Tragically, a 5-year-old boy lost his life after the vehicle he was in was swept away by fast-moving waters. The ongoing storms have prompted road closures and forced residents to confront extensive cleanup efforts in affected neighborhoods.

Houston, known for its susceptibility to flooding, has faced similar challenges in the past. The aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in 2017 saw historic levels of rainfall, resulting in significant property damage and a large-scale rescue operation.

The recent storms have brought substantial rainfall to central Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth area, leading to high-water rescues and significant property damage. In the Houston area, multiple rescues have been conducted, with some individuals being saved from flooded homes.

Residents like Greg Moss have been impacted by the flooding, with many forced to evacuate their homes. Moss, who resides in Channelview, had to relocate to higher ground to avoid being stranded by rising waters.

The situation remains challenging for many Texans as they navigate the aftermath of the severe weather. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and provide assistance to those in need.
