Texas QB Quinn Ewers Got Roasted by College Football Fans Over Awkward Manning Graphic

Each year, the Manning family and a panel of media members annually releases the “Manning Watch List,” which includes a group of 33 college football quarterbacks to look out for as potentially the sport’s best in the upcoming season.

The results were released on Tuesday, with Texas starting quarterback Quinn Ewers making the list.

The ironic part about this, though, is that Ewers will be starting over Arch Manning, the nephew of Peyton and Eli and grandson of Archie Manning, all of whom vote on this award. The topic of the Longhorns’ quarterback battle heading into the 2023 season was everywhere until coach Steve Sarkisian announced Ewers would be the starter back in April.

Texas football posted a photo Tuesday commemorating Ewers making the award’s watch list, and the graphic definitely stood out to fans. Ewers’s name is at the top, and then right below it is the word “Manning” in much larger letters. 

The wild part of this graphic, and of Ewers making the list, is that Arch Manning could very well replace Ewers at any point in the season as the starter if Sarkisian wants to try out the hyped up quarterback.

Fans couldn’t help but make jokes about this graphic on Tuesday, and here are some of the best reactions.
