Texas executed convicted murderer Jamaal Howard on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, despite his lawyers raising concerns about the safety of the lethal injection drug used.

Howard, 46, received pentobarbital at the state prison in Huntsville, the same drug administered during Christa Pike's failed execution in Tennessee.
