A Texas husband and wife are facing serious charges after an alleged plot to kidnap and kill a man involved in an extramarital affair with the wife. Omar Bishtawi, 48, and Hana Alolaimi, 35, have been charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.
The man Alolaimi was having an affair with was also married, and when his wife discovered the relationship, he ended it. This led Alolaimi and Bishtawi to allegedly conspire to kidnap and kill the man.
According to court documents, the couple waited for the victim, a Doordash driver, outside a Chick-fil-A in Houston. Alolaimi gestured to the victim to get into their vehicle, where Bishtawi then attacked him, putting him in a chokehold and shooting him twice when he tried to escape.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his thigh and foot but managed to survive after being rushed to a hospital. The man revealed that he had ended the relationship with Alolaimi due to its toxic nature, but she continued to pursue him, even showing up at his new apartment.
During the kidnapping, Bishtawi reportedly told the victim that he had to die for dishonoring his wife. The incident occurred at the same Chick-fil-A where Alolaimi and the victim used to meet before driving to a nearby location for privacy.
The couple, who have three children aged 13, 10, and 7, faced a judge during a probable cause hearing. The details of the case have shocked the community and raised concerns about the lengths some individuals may go to in response to infidelity.
