Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas will stop offering its Medicare Advantage plans on Jan. 1, 2027, leaving members across the state to choose new coverage. The exit also includes the company's Dual Care Plus plans for people with both Medicare and Medicaid, and its stand-alone prescription drug plans.
The insurer's website notice says it will no longer offer Blue Cross MedicareRx (PDP) Prescription Drug Plans, Blue Cross Medicare Advantage Plans, or Blue Cross Medicare Advantage Dual Care Plus (HMO SNP) Plans for 2027, The Dallas Morning News reported. The company told KERA that affected customers were notified by mail before Oct. 2 and will have a special election period to pick another plan.
