Michigan State basketball has added their second commit to the 2023 class in the last four days.
Four-star small forward Gehrig Normand announced on Tuesday night that he will be a Spartan, committing to Michigan State. Normand hails from North Richland Hills, Texas and took an official visit to Michigan State this past weekend.

Normand ranks as the No. 89 overall prospect and No. 17 small forward in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2023 class. He’s also listed as the No. 5 player from Texas.
Normand holds offers from more than 20 schools, and picked Michigan State over Missouri, Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Auburn, Illinois, Texas, Tennessee, Colorado, TCU, Xavier and others.
With Normand’s commitment, Michigan State now has three pledges for the 2023 class. Normand joins five-star power forward Xavier Booker and four-star point guard Jeremy Fears. We will wait to see where the Spartans class moves up to, but Michigan State already held the No. 6 class on 247Sports.com in the nation prior to Normand’s commitment.
